BioEllen Leroy-Reed, LEED AP BD+C, is President, Dean of Schools of Solar EOS.  With over 15 years of experience in business development, training, and public relations, Ms. Leroy-Reed has forged her commitment to sustainability with her business strategy. Through her work with the US Green Building Council as current President of the North Florida Chapter, she has carried the message of green building throughout the country and continues to spread the word about the importance of sustainable communities and green building. Also serving as past chair of the Public and Government Education committee, she humbly assisted (in small part) in the formation of Jacksonville’s Sustainable Building Ordinance. Her professional experience includes Project Team Administration on several LEED projects for clients ranging from small business to large businesses, schools, and non-profit organizations.

Along with her work in the green building industry, she has also volunteered with organizations such as the Navy League, the American Lung Association, Habijax, the USO, and Camden Area Players Theater Company. She is the proud parent of five children and wife to one ex-pat from the United Kingdom, is an avid reader of non-fiction, and in a repetitive exercise in futility, attempts and fails at growing vegetables in her garden each year. Her ‘frustrated author’ status was fully established during a three-year assignment as a humor columnist and she plans to someday write a book.
