DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC FACILITIES (#8354)
This is an executive, exempt position under FLSA
Salary Range: $ 80,187 - $136,230 annually
The City of Miami is presently seeking a highly qualified professional to fill its executive position of Director of Public Facilities. The incumbent reports to an Assistant City Manager/Chief of Infrastructure and will direct the activities of, and plan improvements and public partnerships for city-owned properties. Coordinates with other departments to develop strategic plans and public/private partnership opportunities that will maximize benefits to the residents of Miami, maximize City revenues, and help foster job creation and positive economic impact within the community.
Responsible for administration, management and operational aspects of the Department of Public Facilities, which includes the management of the City’s real property inventory and the following facilities, including, but not limited to: Marlin’s Stadium Parking Garage Retail, James L. Knight International Center (Miami Convention Center), Miami Stadium, Marine Stadium Marina, Dinner Key Marina, Miamarina at Bayside and the Manuel Artime Center.
Directs and coordinates the negotiation of contractual services and oversees operations through subordinate staff; administers and promulgates municipal policies and regulations pertaining to the acquisition, development, management and disposition of City-owned property; directs efforts to maximize the revenue potential and community use of municipally owned assets; oversees and/or negotiates property leases, management agreements, revocable permits, and easements; oversees and/or negotiates the sale and acquisition of real property; oversees the management of real estate lease agreements, management agreements and revocable permits and the maintenance of all property files and inventory; facilitates short and long range planning for the department; coordinates with external and internal agencies as it pertains to deed and funding related restrictions as well as all permitting aspects; develops the Department’s budget including capital improvements budget; oversees preparation and administration of grants; prepares a variety of reports, and performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will submit a copy of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Public Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or a closely related field, and detail a minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience managing real estate transactions, and negotiating and managing property leases OR An equivalent combination of training and experience beyond a Bachelor's degree in an aforementioned field.

Proof of education must be submitted in the form of transcripts unless degree reflects academic major on its face. Resumes will not be substituted for City of Miami employment application forms, but may be submitted as supplemental documentation. While copies of transcripts and degrees may suffice for initial qualification, official sealed transcripts will be required if selected. Foreign degrees, certificates or diplomas require transcript evaluations by American colleges, universities, or a NACES approved transcript evaluation service, which determines reciprocity to education in the United States. Resumes can supplement, but will not be substituted for the Employment application form.
